I must say, out of any subject I snap pics of, I’d have to say she is my favorite by far. Having a daughter is so special to me. She’s so very girly with a great mix of humor, talent, and a huge heart. She amazes me and she keeps me humble. I’ll always try to be the best Mommy I can be for her because I’ll forever be indebted to her for making me a better person.

MY DREAMS CAME TRUE! “Save tomorrow for me, I’m coming home to you”.
I’ve seen Heads of State and BBD up close/2nd row. Now I’m heading back home to LA to see ALL S I X of them, Ralph, Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Mike, and Johnny!!! I feel like I’m 14 all over again. Med and I will be screaming, singing and dancing like fools! I don’t know what the two E’s and every one else is gonna be doing around us….but….LOL! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Hell mufuggin yeah!
Added back the anniversary mix. I’ll also be adding something very special in here very soon…*rubbing hands together*
Nas is like…Half man. Half amazing.
This is my second time photographing a live performance by Nas and he definitely doesn’t disappoint.
Backstage. Nas on deck.

My call time was 1pm. I got to Shoreline and got all my media credentials and dining passes. I thought I had time to eat before I had to head to the Paid Dues stage. I grab lunch and sit. Backstage in the cafe are, they have monitors of what looks like the show that’s going on at the main stage. I take about 3 bites and realize that Common was ON. So here I am - kinda hungry and torn. Do I eat….or go watch/photograph Common? Eat? Watch Common. Eat….? Fuuuuug. 3 bites and I get up and waste food by dumping it in the garbage. I pick up my stuff and bounce. Too late to get in with the media group, so I hike out of the VIP area and head out to the side and toggle between there and backstage.
I could have fed a village with the food I just wasted. Common didn’t show when he was slotted in 2 years ago, so I had to. I just….had to. =/

Still ILL. Still Lauryn Hill.
With my own eyes and heart I witnessed that old energy we all once felt with her music. Goosebumps raced down my back when I saw the set from backstage. I raced to get out of the VIP area to the media line. I wanted to be part of the first group to shoot. This right here was going to be a moment I put down in the books.
I have spent the week trying to get back in to the groove and recuperate which is why these photos are late, so I invite you to please check back again as I will be posting more Rock The Bells coverage soon.
Big thank you to Guerrilla Union and K. Peterson for your hospitality and hiring me to shoot this event. My appreciation runs deep. Combining music and art for me is the greatest opportunity I can imagine.
